A Florida man reportedly "snapped" earlier this week after someone took his place in line. The "St. Petersburg Times" is reporting that Fred Shipley was waiting for an elevator at the Edwinola Assisted Living Facility when Howard Soesman cut in front of him. Shipley reportedly became upset over Soesman's behavior and began strangling him. The 69-year-old allegedly told police that his only regret was not killing Soesman. Shipley was arrested on a charge of battery by strangulation and taken to the Land O'Lakes jail.
"A-ha! The power of Girl Power!"
"A young British girl left a crook writhing in pain after he tried to steal from her house. According to "The Sun," 12-year-old Georgia Bulis-Gray was home alone recently when she saw an intruder in her kitchen. Bulis-Gray says the man smiled when he saw her, at which point she decided that a kick to the groin was the only way she could protect herself. She recalls, quote, "I kicked him very hard. He groaned and then ran out of the side gate. I ran to the front door to make sure he did not run into anyone else's house." Georgia Bulis-Gray called police and drew a sketch of the man, but so far no arrests have been reported. He mother says she's proud of how quickly her daughter reacted, adding, quote, "I dread to think what could have happened."
"Deep Fried Kibbles & Bits"
A Georgia man was arrested earlier this week after his dog ate his food. According to the "Dalton Daily Citizen," Matthew Ray Bramblet was arrested on Monday after he tossed his dog out of his car for "eating his chicken." A witness saw the dog get thrown from Bramblett's vehicle and quickly notified the police. Authorities were able to locate the 32-year-old Chatsworth resident's truck, and he eventually admitted to throwing his pet out of his ride. The dog has yet to be located. Bramblet has been charged with cruelty to animals.
